The beginnings in Baltimore<\/h3>\n

The story of the Indianapolis Colts<\/strong> began in 1953 in Baltimore, Maryland<\/strong>. The team was founded as the Baltimore Colts<\/strong> and joined the NFL. Led by legends such as Johnny Unitas<\/strong>, the Colts quickly established themselves as a team that dominated the league in the 1950s and 1960s. A highlight was winning Super Bowl V in 1971<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Colts go Indianapolis<\/h3>\n

Although the Colts had a passionate fan base in Baltimore, the franchise decided to move to Indianapolis<\/strong> in 1984. This led to controversy and a rift with the fans in Baltimore. Nevertheless, it was the beginning of a new era for the Colts and the city of Indianapolis.<\/p>\n

The 1990s and 2000s would prove to be the Colts’ most successful period<\/strong>. Led by quarterback Peyton Manning<\/strong>, the team established itself as one of the best in the league. The Colts went to the Super Bowl<\/strong> four times, winning two of them. Peyton Manning<\/strong> will be remembered as one of the franchise’s icons.<\/p>\n
