A total of 50,023 spectators<\/strong> watched the duel of the two Superbowl title contenders<\/strong> live in the sold-out Waldstadion<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Before the game, the atmosphere outside the stadium was electric. In addition to American delicacies like BBQ, there were also German classics like \u00bbKochk\u00e4se\u00ab and, of course, German beer. DJ and volume battles between fans, the Chiefs’ marching band and many raffles heated up the atmosphere outside the stadium.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Chiefs<\/strong> fans were clearly in the majority, but Dolphins<\/strong> fans were also well represented. But as we all know from the International Games in Munich last year<\/strong><\/span>, the stadium was still completely colorful and all NFL<\/strong> teams were represented by their fans.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The German national anthem, sung by musician Gregor H\u00e4gele<\/strong>, was followed by the kickoff. Less than three minutes into the game, the first touchdown was scored on the first offensive possession, followed quickly by two more. Despite a turnover by Pat Mahomes<\/strong>, a highlight for all Chiefs<\/strong> fans followed. Chiefs<\/strong> safety Bryan Cook<\/strong>\u00a0returned a fumble nearly 60 yards into the end zone to give his team a 21:0 lead at the half. The Dolphins<\/strong>‘ highly touted offense, led by quarterback Tua Tagovaiola<\/strong> and star receiver Tyreek Hill<\/strong>, was sweating profusely.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
