Nike Air Tailwind 79 "Mystic Navy"
Presented to the running scene at Honululu Marathon in 1978, the Air Tailwind was released in 1979 and revolutionized running! The Tailwind was the first shoe ever to have a built in air unit. At that time, test-runners didn’t want to give back their prototypes because of the whole new feeling of running in them. Looking back at the history of Nike Air it’s not hard to tell that the Air Tailwind is definitely one of the most important sneakers of all times!
Featuring an upper composed of beige mesh and suede plus a large dark blue Swoosh and old-school foam tongue, the Tailwind’s sleek retro look is finished off with a white midsole and - of course - a gumm waffle outsole.
This one’s a must-have when it comes to retro running!
