Nike React Element 55
In 2018, Nike has given us a new silhouette, with the freshly designed React sole. We are talking about the Nike React Element, which offers maximum comfort for everyday movements and routes in the city. Within a short period of time, the Nike React Element 55 has become one of the most hyped silhouettes. With its futuristic design, it is not only an absolute eye-catcher, but also a real miracle of wearing comfort.
Running DNA for the city
Whether for the gym, with jeans or as a runner, the React Element 55 is a real all-rounder. However, behind the sneaker are results of intensive tests on everyday running routines. The wave-like arches in the sole not only look cool, but actually serve a function, providing additional support at the, most stressed, pressure points. The sneaker's focus is on performance, even though the look is totally streetwear-ready. Shape and materials are inspired by the 1983 Nike Internationalist, according to designer Darryl Matthews. The mix of old and new gives the sneaker a very special style, which offers an incredible number of possibilities for combination with different styles from your closet.
Nike React – a revolutionary damping system
The Nike React technology consists of foam, which is characterized by a very high energy recovery and extreme lightness. By using pressure diagrams, Nike was able to identify the areas in the sole that are subjected to the highest stress. It is precisely in these areas that the React foam comes into play, making the high level of comfort possible. Before the release of the Nike React Element 55, the new technology was initially only used on basketball shoes, establishing itself as the most durable and efficient sole. Since the end of 2018, the sole was also allowed to prove itself on sneakers and is now used for the latest models, such as the Nike React Vision, the Nike Air Force 1 React or the Nike Air Max 270 React.
The »little brother« of the React Element 87
The new React damping system was already used in the very similar Nike React Element 87, which hardly differs from the React Element 55. Only the upper and "inconspicuous" details make the difference, because the 87 React Element uses a transparent upper, whereas the React Element 55 relies on a lightweight textile upper with a more eye-catching Swoosh. In the sneaker community, the later released React Element 55 is often referred to as the "little brother" of the 87.
Wide range of colorways for men and women
Meanwhile, Nike Sportswear has brought some cool colorways and concepts to the React Element 55. As a simpler version of the React Element 87, this one writes its very own success story. In addition to summery colorful and minimalist black and white colorways, there are now also SE models with hip deconstructed look and sketchy details. Rapper Kendrick Lamar has also launched a colorway in "marble look" in collaboration with Nike. Especially for women, the Swoosh has come up with color combinations with Coral and Volt details and likes to work with beautiful pastel tones in the girls' versions.
How does the Nike React Element 55 fit?
The Nike React Element 55 is slightly narrower than other Nike models. We therefore advise you to go up a half size when choosing your React Element shoe. If you have particularly wide feet, you should always try the sneaker on first in our stores.
