Every great story has a beginning. This one started in a small town in Bavaria, Germany. After first steps in his mother’s wash kitchen, Adi Dassler registered the »Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik« in 1924 and embarked on his mission to provide athletes with the best possible equipment.
adidas constantly earned the trust of world-class athletes through decades by producing innovative products that make them better for once. One of the most famous adidas innovations was the Torsion System, invented in 1989.
By using a TPU arch to bridge the heel and forefoot, Torsion allows the front and rear of the foot to operate and adapt to surfaces independently. The System serves as a platform which helps to combat improper flexing of the arch. This is beneficial for protection, fit, and control during strides and movements. The result is a smooth heel-to-toe transition.
