Nike Air Jordan 1 – MJ’s first signature shoe

The story of the legendary Air Jordan 1 actually began with a completely different sneaker. The Nike Air Ship was actually the sneaker that was not allowed on the court of the NBA because of its dark color and lack of white color. Driven by the media and constant reporting that Michael was wearing the prototype of the Air Jordan 1, the shoe attracted the crowds. MJ and Nike each had to pay a $5,000 per game fine as soon as the star stepped onto the court with the shoes. Nike took advantage of this and from that point on promoted the Air Jordan 1 with the slogan "Fortunately, the NBA can't stop you from wearing them". The first Colorways were therefore naturally based on the colors of the Chicago Bulls. Today, the OG models "Bred" and "Chicago" are among the most popular AJ1 models and change hands for incredibly high sums of money.

The popular retro models are constantly appearing in new colors, with both classic colorblocking and experimental color schemes. Colorways such as "Black Toe", "Court Purple" and "Turbo Green" went through the roof, although these are none of the otherwise highly sought-after OG colorways. Today, the mid and low variants are becoming more popular than ever. For a long time these were overshadowed by the Jordan Brand's high top. In the meantime they have long since established themselves and are incredibly popular, especially with girls. Models like the Nike WMNS Air Jordan 1 Low "Spruce Aura" or the Air Jordan 1 Mid "Milan" were sold out right after release! We are sure that future releases will be equally popular.

Collaboarations and Jordans creme-de-la-creme

Such a legend in the world of sneakers naturally attracts fashion labels and artists as collaboration partners. Among the most famous are Travis Scott, Eminem, Dior, Levi's and Off-White. The US rapper Travis Scott has even been allowed to appear on three different models of the Jordan Brand. The Nike Air Jordan 1, 4 and 6 are available in a "Cactus Jack" version and are among the most hyped sneaker releases of the last years. At least the same way the collabos are celebrated with Off-White or Dior, which are now traded at exorbitant prices. With your normal Nike size you won't go wrong with Jordans. Air Jordans are true-to-size, Air Jordan 3 and 4 are a bit more chunky, but should still fit you in your regular size!
