Let’s Go Colts!

The Indianapolis Colts are one of the most storied franchises in the NFL. From their beginnings in Baltimore to their current home in Indianapolis, the Colts look back on a rich history.

Today we take a closer look at the team that will take on the Patriots at Waldstadium on 12th November.

The beginnings in Baltimore

The story of the Indianapolis Colts began in 1953 in Baltimore, Maryland. The team was founded as the Baltimore Colts and joined the NFL. Led by legends such as Johnny Unitas, the Colts quickly established themselves as a team that dominated the league in the 1950s and 1960s. A highlight was winning Super Bowl V in 1971.

Colts go Indianapolis

Although the Colts had a passionate fan base in Baltimore, the franchise decided to move to Indianapolis in 1984. This led to controversy and a rift with the fans in Baltimore. Nevertheless, it was the beginning of a new era for the Colts and the city of Indianapolis.

The 1990s and 2000s would prove to be the Colts’ most successful period. Led by quarterback Peyton Manning, the team established itself as one of the best in the league. The Colts went to the Super Bowl four times, winning two of them. Peyton Manning will be remembered as one of the franchise’s icons.

The Indianapolis Colts today

Today, the Indianapolis Colts are an up-and-coming team in the NFL. Led by quarterback Sam Ehlinger and a stout defense, the Colts are trying to build on the successes of the past. The fans in Indianapolis are passionate about their team and dream of winning another Super Bowl.

All in all, the Indianapolis Colts are a great chapter in the history of the NFL. Their journey from Baltimore to Indianapolis and their success in both cities has made them an indispensable part of American football. Whether you’re a die-hard Colts fan or not, their story is undoubtedly an important part of the NFL’s legacy.

We can’t wait to see how the Colts fare against the Patriots in Frankfurt on 12th November!
