Nike SB x NBA? Doesn’t sound like love at first sight. But believe us, it kinda was that.

When skateboarding started becoming popular, there were no brands crating real skate shoes that fulfilled the exact need of skateboarders – they had to be robust, have quality materials and a grippy sole. Well, that’s were basketball shoes came into play. With the late 80s, basketball players had exactly the same needs and slowly skaters took shoes such as the Blazer and Dunks to skate. That’s kinda how that relationship began. Especially the Dunk silhouette was pretty successful even in the sneaker scene, with some colorways and collabs selling for huuuuge amounts of money.
