In 1920, Adolf Dassler and his brother Rudolf began manufacturing sports shoes in Herzogenaurach, Bavaria. By the 1936 Olympic Games, word had already spread among athletes about the outstanding quality of Dassler shoes - for example, the US track and field athlete won his 4 gold medals wearing shoes from Herzogenaurach. After the split between the two brothers, Adi Dassler founded adidas in 1948. One year later, the three stripes were introduced, which are still the characteristic trademark of the shoes today. Since then, it is impossible to imagine the sports sector without adidas, but it also plays a major role in lifestyle and fashion.
