With the Air Max 1 `86 Big Bubble "University Red" Nike brings back the mother of all sneaker silhouettes, the Air Max 1 in its OG colorway.

And this time, the sneaker not only stands out with its distinctive design, but has also received a functional update, which can be seen and reminiscent of the beginnings of the Air Max saga.

In the development phase of the Air Max 1, the "Big Bubble" appeared for the first time as early as 1986, before it had to give space to a smaller Air Pad due to technical improvements. Only after the launch of the first Air Max 1 models did the engineers notice that the large Air Pad tended to tear at low temperatures and thus it was decided to bury the "Big Bubble".
