Since the company was founded in 2005, VEJA has successfully proven that style consciousness and sustainability can also go hand in hand in the sneaker industry. With the VEJA Rio Branco, the French brand presents a timeless runner that, in addition to its sustainable materials, also makes quite a statement in terms of looks!

VEJA Rio Branco – Sustainable and fair produced

The idea behind a pair of VEJAs: design and social responsibility are in harmony. Driven by the vision to change consumer behavior sustainably, VEJA focuses on transparent production chains, fair working conditions and environmentally friendly materials.

The Rio Branco clearly stands out from the classic VEJA models such as the V-12 or the V-10. The design is reminiscent of a real vintage runner. The Rio Branco is now available with three different upper materials, which we would like to list briefly for you here:

Hexamesh: The mesh fabric is significantly lighter, more breathable and more flexible than the B-Mesh. It consists of two superimposed layers of fabric. Here, too, VEJA relies on a sustainable choice of materials: The solid base is made of 30% recycled plastic bottles and on top of that comes 70% biodegraded cotton.

Alveomesh: This mesh fabric goes even one step further and is made from 100% recycled plastic bottles.

Ripstop: This outer fabric is also made from 100% recycled plastic bottles. Ripstop here refers to a specially woven fabric that is particularly tear-resistant. The special weaving technique gives the fabric a box structure.

As with all VEJA models, the iconic V logo on the sides can't be left out. The inner lining is made of a mix of organic cotton and recycled polyester. The EVA sole is made of sustainable natural rubber and provides the necessary grip thanks to its waffle-like look.
