What made it special? The famous "Jazz Stripe" first appeared on the Old Skool which has since been Vans' iconic side stripe, making it the company's unmistakable trademark.
The Old Skool was released 1977 in three different colorways, one of which was the royal blue version worn mostly by skate legend Stacy Peralta. After a few initial difficulties, the Old Skool became a favorite of Vans lovers. Especially appreciated for the versatile construction of the skate shoe. Its different panels made the Old Skool the perfect shoe to get creative with, so fans started customizing their shoes.
