1987 the adidas ZX 710 made its first appearance in the running shoe market. It clearly distanced itself from the technical look of its predecessor and put its own spin on it with the typical mesh pattern in the sole area of old adidas silhouettes as well as the overlapping, two-layer adidas stripes.

Unlike many other styles in the ZX family, the ZX 710 disappeared into the adidas archives for decades after its product launch - giving it a completely individual status among collectors.
