The word "Saucony" corresponds on the native Indian word "saconk“. Loosely translated it means something like: "The place where the two rivers meet“. These two rivers are represented in the characteristic logo of the US-American sporting goods manufacturer till today. In the 70s, a veritable run hype developed in the USA, whereby the Saucony brand gained more and more importance.
The label blossomed quickly out of the amateur running scene, up to an enormous appreciation of professional athletes and finally to one of the hottest insider tips of that time.
